Hi there!
I'm going to be starting a little blog here to act in place of my previous "Site Roadmap" page (now removed and all previous things on it added to the bottom of this post)
Whether it's some of the new things that come in, or if I'm working on a project or writing or posting pictures about something I'm working on - I hope to keep this current and up to date!
I'd also love to show-case some of the things that you're interested in, or personal collections of your own!
Here's everything that I had on my previous Site Roadmap page that showed my objectives and what I was working toward:
✔ Create Facebook Page
(Original plan was for a Facebook Shop - items kept being unapproved - eventually the shop as a whole was disapproved) - 24/09/2021 setup
✔ Create base website homepage
Technically this is v3 of a website. The first version would have worked but was quite visually unappealing, the second had an issue where it would cost $75 (~£55 per month) to host, and now there's this one - basic setup complete 30/10/2021.
✔ Create base shop
✔ Go through key settings for the website & shop
30/10/2021. May need tweaking / adding to.
✔ Create FAQ section
30/10/2021. May need tweaking / adding to.
✔ Create Collectors Links page
30/10/2021. May need tweaking / adding to.
✔ Move domain name across to this website & pay for first publication of this site
01/11/2021. 1st year paid for (oof!). Site published but it may take a few days for the site to show as GlennsAntiqueShop.co.uk
✔ Make a post on the Facebook page to announce that the shop is online!
02/11/2021 - site has had confirmation that it's marked as secure
✔ Hit 100 Site Visitors!
05/11/2021
✔ 1st Visitor accessing the website from a search engine!
09/11/2021
✔ Grow the store & add products for larger ranges of people with differing interests, Review one month into the online shop
03/12/2021 - have approx 250 items in the shop and have had a fair few site visitors. Next step would be to try and work on advertising in some form, preferably without breaking the bank. Will continue building a larger and more diverse range of items in the shop.
✔ Try to re-create the Facebook page (& possible Instagram page) for shop integration, & then transfer all links to it
01/12/2021 - Found a way to contact Facebook about the issue I'm having. Re-creating a Facebook page won't solve any of the issues and would likely cause a lot of confusion. Will see what Facebook say / do.
10/12/2021 - Response from Facebook re-approving shop. Linked shop with Facebook and ironing out the creases. Removed lots of items from the link that breach Facebook shops terms
☐ Create an Instagram Shop, provided the Facebook Shop works well enough in the first week or so
☐ Minor tweaks & Future development
(Distant future??)
☐ If all goes well, a business premises??
☐ If all goes well, maybe a gorgeous old Morris van with a hand-painted sign??
